Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) integrates all switchgear components — including circuit breakers, disconnect switches, earthing switches, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), surge arresters, and busbars — into a compact assembly. All components are enclosed within SF₆ gas-insulated compartments.
We offer GIS systems ranging from 126 kV to 800 kV, with a typical lead time of 6–8 months.
GIS is a superior alternative to traditional high-voltage (HV) switchgear for several reasons:
Lower construction cost: GIS reduces the required footprint by approximately 90% compared to conventional switchgear built with individual circuit breakers and separate components.
Higher service availability: Since all components are fully enclosed, they are protected from environmental exposure. This eliminates service interruptions caused by natural factors such as wildlife and weather.
Lower maintenance cost: According to our service records, maintenance costs in the first seven years are virtually zero.
